It’s been a long journey, but after one failed marriage, I’m enjoying a fresh start with a wonderful man whom I love more than I could ever have imagined was possible. I’m learning every day what it means to be a responsible and loving partner in marriage, and how to be a better parent.
This blog is about my journey up to this point and how I got here. I don’t have any answers but can only write about my experiences, mistakes, and discoveries about myself. I’m still growing, and hope to continue doing so for a long time.
I’m exploring my creative side in my cooking, photography, writing, parenting, and just about every other facet of my life. I’m not necessarily who I thought I was for many years, and it’s been very enlightening.
As for my personal details, I live in Fredericksburg, Virginia but was born and raised in the Republic of Panama. My mother came to Panama with the Peace Corps and met my father, a Panamanian living in the heart of the Darien jungle. I was raised in the Darien and Panama City and attended private Catholic schools until third grade. From then on I attended U.S. Dept. of Defense schools and eventually moved to the former Canal Zone, where I graduated from Balboa High School and attended Panama Canal College. I then transferred to George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where I met my first husband.
The rest, as you may come to find out, is what this blog is all about. So take a seat on the porch with me, and let’s see how we got here and what happens next. I’ll have a martini while we chat — what would you like?
